How has Technology changed schools.?

I'm trying to find out how technology has changed schools from the early 1900's to modern day. . All I keep finding is the history of computers, but I need things other than computers.

Any places to find legitimate info would be appreciated
How has Technology changed schools.?
smartbourds in every classroom

How has technology changed your mind?

We also are expected to pay attention to many complicated things at once.

How has technology changed the way we think if at all?

Do you think that future generations will have improved their ability to multi task or will we have simply adpated technology to work with our natural single mindedness?

curious
How has technology changed your mind?
**Takes a deep breath**

Technology is obviously a wonderful thing. To remain innovative and constantly find ways to improve our quality of life is of course a plus. However, there is a definite change in our children just over the course of the past 10 years. We've seen an increase in Attention Deficit Disorder and why are we surprised. We now live in a society where we ask our children to basically %26quot;plug in%26quot; and %26quot;Plug out%26quot; all day long. I grew up playing outside. When we wanted to play, we used our creativity and created scenerios and played them out. Now, our kids plug into playstation or x-box and at the push of a button a click of a lever....they are off and running. Get bored. pfffffft.....plug in another game. Or better yet, get on the computer and log onto the internet. Don't like that site? Never fear...click on this one.....or this one.....how about this one as well. Better yet!!! Have all four windows open at once!!! Or lets go watch T.V. WE have 271 channels to choose from. You can click back and forth all day long and NEVER get bored!! And if you get hungry, the microwave is just downstairs!

I guess my point is, I'm not sure we've improved their abilities to multi task as much as we've removed their ability to think and problem solve and adapt. Many kids come to school now expecting to be %26quot;entertained.%26quot; Why? This is what they get from technology. And if they aren't entertained in the classroom, they don't have the remote to change the channel. So they shut down, or become distracted, or cause a distraction themselves. Usually because they have no idea how to see for any length of time in order to learn.

Of course this is a generalization.....I realize that. But as a teacher that has been %26quot;in the biz%26quot; for quite a long while, I see the changes in our kids. I find I'm having to do %26quot;stand up%26quot; comedy each and every day just to keep my kids attention. I can't help but think that technology has contributed to this in a great way.

So what is your opinion? Curious as well.......

Advanced and very tiny computers will be installed into our brains so that we are capable of much higher forms of thinking.

What are some of the advancements in Roman technology?

What technological advances (i.e. military, architecture, etc) did the Romans accomplish? How did Roman technology change future society?
What are some of the advancements in Roman technology?
The Romans were expert military and civil engineers. Among their accomplishments were: bridge-building, ballistic weapons, elevated and underground aqueducts, the use of arches and domes, and the invention of concrete
What are some of the advancements in Roman technology?
Seize towers, catapults, trebuche. They led less hand to hand, and more range attacks.
Truth be told most %26quot;roman tech%26quot; was acuttally from conquered peoples! examples include the arch for bridges and aquaducts, the catapult, the scorpian a large bolt fireing siege weapon and most of their battle formations as well. The Romans just had a way of perfecting all these captured technologies. hope that helps.

How has farming technology change in the last 50 years?

for example machines to milk cow - what are those machines called and what other sort of new technologys are there to help with farming?
How has farming technology change in the last 50 years?
the most up to date tecnology that i have seen is most modern electronics in equipment laser guided planters gps is huge in the agriculture industry a gps unit can along with sensors tell you what parts need certain types of fertilizer monitors can tell you what your yeild or moisture is it can also tell you where you have sprayed and keeps you from over spraying also equipment sensors tell you when there are problems with the engine or other things the best way to keep up to date with the latest in farming tecnology check out you local ag equipment dealer or cooperative also tecnology is inpacting grain and livestock with bioengineered crops
How has farming technology change in the last 50 years?
The units are called milking machines...just like a big vacuum.

Really in the last 50 years it hasn't changed. Large farms, ability to use science and computers for better milk production, growing of crops.
Farming, at least in industrial nations, has become far more mechanized over the past 50 years. While the tractor was around 50 years ago, it has become for more advanced in its abilities and comfort offerings. What with mechanical power being supplied from the PTO, a number of attachments can be used for a host of field activities. Mowers, hay balers, sorters, harrows, grain drills, are but a few of the implements that can be used today. Add to the fact that tractors can also sport front end loaders, and you end up with a very versatile tool for farm related activities.

That's just focusing on the tractor, there's also an assortment of other farm devices for harvesting grain crops, vegetable crops, pest management, fruit crops, watering, shipping and storage.

What little way has technology changed you???

A few days ago, I was walking into a store and passed a parked car at the same time someone locked it with their remote-causing the horn to honk. I was right in front of the car at the time but did not even flinch because I am so used to this now.

But, ten years ago, if I had been in front of a car %26amp; the horn was honked (no mattered how briefly) it would have startled me.

As a result, I now wonder this; what small way have you changed as the result of technological advances in the last 5-10 years???
What little way has technology changed you???
Good question! I think the most basic thing that has changed about me is how I am now %26quot;tied%26quot; to my cell phone. Before they became so prevalent, I used to laugh at the few people I knew who had them. I'd say, %26quot;What makes you so important that you have to be in constant communication? Can't you wait 'til you get home to get your phone calls?%26quot;

Now that I have had a cell phone for a few years, I hate to leave the house without it. If I see that the battery is running low, I start to get panicky about when/where I'll be able to charge it up. Strange.
What little way has technology changed you???
Before the internet and computers became so widely used I wouldn't be spending my time inside the house on websites like these. I'd be outside playing. The positive side is email and the ability to communicate faster. Instead of checking the mailbox each day, we check our computers every hour. The other day I forgot my cell at home and it was weird not to be able to contact anyone if I needed to.
i have become lazy with mathematical computations...cuz you know, that's what calculators and stats programs are for =X

  • Technology is changing our lives. To what extent do you think it is true???

Imagine a world without technology. What would that world be like? How would our lives be different? Would completing jobs be easier or more difficult?

Almost every part of our daily lives is affected by technology. The homes we live in, the vehicles that take us from place to place, and the devices we use everyday are just a few examples of the products of technology.

Technology is a difficult concept to define. Many misconceptions exist about what technology is and what the word really means. Most individuals believe technology is computers or the latest electronic devices. These devices are the products of technology, but these devices only make up a small part of the concept of technology.

Technology is like air. It can not be seen or touched, but it is all around us everyday. We know technology exist because we can see the products or results of technology. These products are our homes, buildings, highways, vehicles, electronics, clothing, communication method, and all the many other human made devices or systems we use everyday.

Technology is the use of knowledge, tools, materials, and processes to alter the natural world in order to satisfy human needs and wants. Humans use technology to design, problem solve, invent, and innovate solutions to everyday problems. Conquering and controlling nature continues to be a central purpose of technology.

Humans will never run as fast as a cheetah, swim like a fish, or fly like a eagle. With technology humans can extend their abilities. This allows them to travel great distances quickly, lift heavy objects, communicate with people across the globe, and become more productive workers.

Science and Technology are different content areas that work together to improve the way we live. Science is the study of the natural world. This includes plants, animals, and everything else that was not created by humans. Technology is the study of the human made world. This includes buildings, cars, and all the many other objects invented by or produced by humans.

The job of a scientist and the job of a technologists are similar, but the jobs are also unique. Scientist deal primary with the why and how things occur in nature. Scientist ask questions like, why do volcano erupt? Technologists deal primary with designing and problem solving. Technologists ask questions like, how can we design and develop safe housing near a volcano?

How does science and technology work together? Scientific discoveries lead to technological inventions and innovations. Technological inventions and innovations lead to scientific discoveries. One content area can not survive without the other content area.
Technology is changing our lives. To what extent do you think it is true???
It is true to a large extend.
Technology is changing our lives. To what extent do you think it is true???
i think a more simple question would be how isn't it.. be a much much shorter list
This is true to a large extent as there is practically a new way to do everything through the use of machines and computers. You can use the internet to chat with friends and family. New technology has also created more jobs in the ICT area but has lost jobs as technoloy is so much more faster then labour. Technology has moved on so much that is come to the extent that it is controlling our lives. Think how long you wold last without a computer or a phone
absolutely nothing is not technology, the horse and buggy was technology, the first stone tools were, also, you're asking this question thanks to internet and computer technology, going camping is made possible by technology, along with everything you wear. the only way to not be influenced by technology is to walk on unpaved roads in the middle of an undeveloped country (no soil has been moved by people), wearing nothing, and living by eating berries and chasing down rabbits and squirrels. no fires, no traps, (unless made out of webbing which you created yourself, like a spider.) eating everything raw.
It depends on how technologies are used. Good people put technologies to good use. I do it every day. Dozen of patents.

How you think technology is changing the way we learn?

i heard that in a college (idk which one but its in d US) thay give students ipods that record the professors lectures so they can listen to it whenever they choose

i tink its wun of em fancy colleges

but i can also read the books in my english class online if i missed a day in school
How you think technology is changing the way we learn?
There are many ways. Many textbooks now have their textbooks online, many teachers record their lectures and upload them as a podcast. If I forget a lesson it is very easy for me to go on the internet and look up information about my lesson. Many teachers now teach using PowerPoint presentations. I don't know about other schools but mine has a website where every teacher has a page to post his/her assignments on and put links to helpful websites on.
