How has the influence of technology changed rock and roll?

R%26amp;P, how do you think the influx of guitar/drumming/and vocal technology have changed the way rock is mixed, recorded, produced, staged, played, etc etc.

Looking forward to some real good answers here

amazingly

the sky is the limit with the technology we have for music.

especially midi.

thats would just be considered crazy 30 years ago.

guitar can basically sound like anything if you synth it enough.

drumming mistakes can be fixed by editing digitally

you can make anybody have an awesome voice with the right studio work.

the only bad thing is in my opinion a lot of %26quot;music%26quot; these days is just straight up over produced.

obviously, things have changed a great deal, and i think some of it is for the better and some for the worse...however, in general, the bands that have been making music the same way for years will continue to make music the same way, maybe adding wrinkles using the new technology, but i don't think it makes that much difference...conversely, bands that were more modern to begin with will continue that by using the tools available to them which they are probably more knowledgable of anyway
It's gotten to the point where in the recording studio, some drummers don't even use an actual drum kit. As electronic kits provide the better sound. Singer's voices can be layered instead of having back up singers. Like they did in the olden days %26amp; normally rubbish vocalists like Britney Spears are able to sell millions of albums with not her voice but WITH her production team. Yes, Black Out would've been more of a flop if it weren't for all the techno beats %26amp; bass playing to fill the void.
Yeah a lot of Untalented People are getting away with making super good compositions with software's, pro-tools, keyboards, electronics, edits, and still getting praised as Awesome God Musicians which makes them the scum of the earth

such as Herman Li of DragonForce and Trent Reznor of NIN
I kinda prefer my rock n roll without as much technology.

Sure, technology can add some neat stuff to music. But there's less talent required when you have technology to make up for you weaknesses.
With technology so complex we get a lot more bands like MGMT, and Thursday that use a lot of technology to make music. Personally I like Classic Rock and Metal more.
No talent or ability can now be fixed with software.
people with less talent try to fill the gap with software
