For one of my high school classes we are doing a project on a career cluster. Our career cluster is Construction and Architecture. We have to answer 7 questions about this cluster and i'm really stumped on this certain question, %26quot;How has technology changed this cluster?%26quot; So my question for you is How do I answer this? I have been going on the computer to see what I can find but I can't find anything? I know technology is a big part of construction but I can't find information from any websites at all! Can you help me? I can't fail this class!!!!!):
How has Technology changed modern Construction?
first off look into the newer hotels and upcoming buildings in Dubai. They integrate tech with architecture so well, and in such an advanced ways.
- the seven star hotel - write about its modern breakthrough look to its press releases for project info.
- man made islands - press releases and construction proposals if you can find any.
-moving buildings (rotating floors) - plans, these are not built yet. might be in progress though.
another place to look at
-las vegas's new City Center - built, example of luxury.
technological advances allow for more complex architectural structures to be built.
through laser cutting tech and more accurate measurements among other things these building can be built much faster.
touch on relevance of tech to structure strength (makes it stronger), foundation (more stable / natural disaster compatible), height (taller, pertaining to wind patterns), weight (lighter), and Luxury (nicer, cleaner, self suficient).
you can include newer components to buildings such as they recycle energy or support renewable energies, meaning your electricity bills are lower, pollutions diminish, and they become more environmentally friendly, which these days is very important. if you are environmentally friendly you can obtain more sponsorship, and support through financing, such as investors, and therefore can afford to fund other parts of the building, so its kind of like a catch 22 in a sense.
I have given you names and places to look at now all you have to do is type in dubai architecure in the google search, and LV city center in it and research the facts.

One way that it has changed it is that we now have software that can be used in the design phase. This allows for trying new design and materials without the expense of building prototypes that won't work because of a structural flaw that wasn't visible. Run simulations of growth and weather patterns to decide if the new structure can take the traffic or if you are building in an area that will suffer adverse impacts.
